Dass dieser Strom seelischer Pseudo-Zerstörten eigentlich kaum mehr abreißen wird, habe ich akzeptiert. Dass jener jedoch mit immer höherer Frequenz und Vielfalt Projekte in den Untergrund spült – das macht mir Angst. Wo soll das nur hinführen? Vielleicht zur Gründung einer „Suizidalen Front“, die womöglich noch von Wilkinson gesponsert wird? Na, ich jedenfalls bin mehr als gespannt.
Einer, der sich jedoch fernab jedweder Hypochonder auf neurotischer Ebene bewegt, ist Wiedergaenger samt seinem Projekt Total Negation. „A Life Lead By Sorrow And Not By Myslef“, der erste und offizielle musikalische Versuch, Schmerz zu vertonen. Das Produkt dessen klingt unerwartet eigenständig und für ein Demo äußerst reif und durchdacht. Bemerkenswerterweise tritt man hier nämlich nicht einfach in eigener Manier auf längst zertrampelten Ideen herum, sondern versucht diese in eine neue Form zu bringen, ihnen ein neues Gesicht, einen neuen Charakter zu verleihen. Dies geschieht in einem äußerst unbequemen, rohen Soundgewand; die Sechs-Saiter fahren einem mit hohen, klagenden Tönen durchs Gehör, das Schlagwerk bedient sich einem merkwürdigen Mischsound aus rumpeligem Nachdruck und plastischen Snares und irgendwo dazwischen scheinen auch Keyboards in dezenter Weise den Hergang zu gestalten, sind jedoch derart latent gehalten, dass dies kaum auffällt, der Stimmung aber umso zuträglicher ist. Denn vor allem dadurch erhalten Stücke wie, zum Beispiel, das zwischen Endzeit und Seelenkargheit pendelnde „Dead Day“ ein ungemeines Potential zum Tiefgang, das zweifelsohne nur mit mehreren Durchläufen vollends ausgeschöpft werden kann.
„A Life Lead By Sorrow And Not By Myself“ spricht also nicht nur im Titel für sich, sondern hat auch in seinem Innern viel Eigenes zu bieten, das sich stets in einer Melange aus Pessimismus, Misanthropie und Selbsthass zu entfalten sucht, die musikalisch, aber vor allem lyrisch sowie stimmlich mehr als glaubhaft überzeugt.

I have accepted that yon stream of mentally pseudo-destroyed persons actually will never break off. That yon, though, flushes projects into the underground with constantly increasing frequency and diversity – that scares me. Where shall this end up? Maybe in a foundation of a “Suicidal Front”, which is probably sponsored by Wilkinson? Well, I for my part stay curious.
One individuum, which, though, moves beyond all kinds of hypochonder on neurotic level, is Wiedergaenger together with his project Total Negation. “A Life Lead By Sorrow And Not by Myself”, the first and official musical try, to record pain. Whose product sounds unexpectedly independent and for a Demo acutely matured and thought-out. Remarkably, one here namely doesn’t deal with long down-trampled ideas, but tries to give these a new form, award them a new face, a new character. This happens by dint of an absolutely undulcet and raw sound-garb; the six-chords creep through the ears with high, moaning tones, the striking mechanism uses a weird mix-sound of rumbling emphasis and plastic Snares and anywhere also Keyboards seem to design the course in discrete manner, are kept suchlike latent, though, that this is hardly conspicuous, but the more takes a positive effect on the mood. Because, especially by that, between end-time and inner scantiness oscillating pieces like “Dead Day” get an immense potential for more deep-going thoughts, which can only be completely utilised with multiple courses of listening.
So, „A Life Lead By Sorrow And Not By Myself” not only speaks for itself by the title, but also offers a very own identity from the inner side, which steadily aspires to evolve in a melange of pessimism, misanthropy and self-hate, which musically, but first of all lyrically and vocally convinces more than credible.
